Inno Morolong will be donating school supplies and stationery to those in need.

With schools set to reopen in a week, many parents have raised concerns over school stationery lists costing more than they can afford. Popular reality TV star, entrepreneur and philanthropist Inno Morolong has announced the launch of a “Back to School Stationery Drive,” an initiative aimed at providing essential learning materials to underprivileged learners ahead of the new school term.

The campaign aims to collect and distribute essential stationery items, including exercise books, pens, pencils, school bags, rulers, crayons, and other basic supplies, to learners from disadvantaged communities. This initiative helps alleviate the financial burden on families and ensures that children are adequately prepared for school.

South Africa’s unemployment rate for 2025 was at an estimated 33.2% in the previous quarter, with about 250,000 people. Youth unemployment remains very high (around 58.5%). Recent estimates suggest around 30,000 children live in child-only homes (under 0.2% of kids), while some estimates indicate up to 150,000 or more orphaned children.

Although some public schools offer stationery, many are still in need. Many cash-strapped parents have bemoaned the extreme costs of stationery and uniforms.

Speaking on the initiative, Inno Morolong said that education is the foundation of opportunity.

“Many learners start the school year without the basic tools they need to succeed, and this drive is about restoring dignity, confidence, and hope—one school kit at a time.”

The stationery drive will start from Monday, 5 January, and handovers at the various schools and homes will be made on 13 and 14 January 2026.

Donations will be coming from Inno Morolongs. Members of the public, corporate partners, and brands are encouraged to do what they can towards the purchase of school items.

The initiative forms part of her ongoing commitment to social responsibility, youth development, and community upliftment, using their platform to create tangible impact beyond entertainment.

Last year, she donated Matric Dance dresses to girls in their final year of high school, making their Grade 12 year memorable. This year, she plans to use what little she may have to help in building a better society.

“A little goes a long way, and whatever I can do to help build better future leaders is important.”
