Producer and DJ Mduduzi Keith Mangena, also known as Mdu aka TRP, and vocalist Mashudu Mosoeu have welcomed their first baby together.
The couple who have kept their relationship under wraps for months are now parents to a bouncing newborn.
A friend of the singer shared how excited the couple is to welcome their baby.
“They are so happy. Not a lot of people knew about the relationship. The baby is a few months old now, and they are slightly comfortable with sharing the information with close friends.”
Masudu and Mdu TRP previously worked together on several songs before a romance sparked. A friend reveals they have a lot in common and share a deep love for music.
“They are a perfect match.” Last year, the couple released the song Mvelinqangi.
Mdu aka TRP, previously dated Deep House DJ Judy Jay and after the break-up, he issued a public statement addressing rumors.
. He clarified that their breakup was mutual, as they “both happened to like different things,” and emphasised that it occurred five months before Judy Jay entered her current relationship.
“I kindly request everyone to stop labelling her and call her all sorts of bad things as well as wrongfully accusing her of things she did not do, because it is not right.” Mdu aka TRP, indicated there was no bad blood between him and Judy Jay, and they are on speaking terms.
Mdu aka TRP is from Soweto, Johannesburg and considered a foundational figure in Amapiano, shaping its sound with his unique percussion and log drum production. He came up with what is known as ‘The Log Drum’ in the Amapiano genre. The “TRP” in his name stands for The Real Percussionist.
Mashudu, also from Soweto, is a force well within her rights. A vocalist, songwriter, and brand ambassador. She made her debut in 2022 with the song Mina Nawe, which reached over 50 million streams across digital platforms.
