US rapper, Onika Tanya Marah-Petty, 37, better known as Nicki Minaj took to social media in a string of images to announce her pregnancy.
The Yikes rapper and her husband Kenneth ‘Zoo’ Petty (42) whom she married in 2019 are expecting their first child together.
A few years ago, Nicki opened up about having an abortion in her teens in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, saying she thought she “was going to die.”
“I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through,” she continued.
Minaj became pregnant when dating her first love affair with, an older guy while still in high school. The decision “haunted me all my life,” but she felt that she made the right decision.
“It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”
But the mom to be is ready. In one of her pictures, she captioned, “Love. Marriage. Baby carriage. Overflowing with excitement and gratitude. Thank you all for the well wishes.”
