Gagasi FM has unveiled a major mid-season shake-up, introducing changes to some of its biggest shows as the KwaZulu-Natal radio station refreshes its on-air line-up.
The biggest move sees award-winning radio personality Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize joining comedian Felix Hlophe as the new co-host of Gagasi FM Breakfast, which airs weekdays from 6am to 9am.
Meanwhile, Minnie Ntuli is leaving the breakfast show and moving to afternoons, where she will join Sphectacular and DJ Naves on The Gagasi Fast Lane, weekdays from 3pm to 6pm.
The station said Minnie’s move comes at the right time as she embraces a new chapter in her personal life after becoming a mother. The schedule change is expected to give her a healthier balance between work and family life while allowing her vibrant personality to shine during the afternoon drive show.
For Selbeyonce, the promotion marks another milestone in a career that has continued to flourish. Gagasi FM said listeners had responded overwhelmingly positively whenever he stood in on the breakfast show, making the transition a natural progression.
The station believes the pairing of Selbeyonce and Felix Hlophe will deliver entertaining, humorous and energetic mornings for listeners across KwaZulu-Natal.
Another addition to the line-up is popular social media content creator Ashay Sewlal, who joins Umsindo Takeover on Saturdays from 4pm to 7pm. Ashay will lead the show’s Maskandi Double Play feature while also supporting presenters Mkay Music and Sphokuhle Luthuli with digital content.
Explaining the changes, Gagasi FM Head of Audience Experience Alex Mthiyane said every programming decision is driven by listeners.
“At Gagasi FM, our listeners remain at the heart of every decision we make. We’ve seen the incredible response whenever Selbeyonce has stepped into the breakfast show, and we knew there was something special there.
“We also believe that Minnie will be a natural fit for the afternoon drive. Her energy and versatile personality will enable her to adapt to the fast pace of the show.
“The addition of Ashay on Umsindo Takeover will spice up the show, and we believe that his entertaining character will blend well with Abafana bomsindo. With these mid-season changes, we are aiming at strengthening our on-air offering and enhancing the listener experience.”
The refreshed line-up officially came into effect on 1 August 2026, with Gagasi FM hoping the presenter changes will give listeners an even bigger and more entertaining second half of the year.
