Radio personality and media star Luthando “LootLove” Shosha is set to return to the Basadi in Music Awards stage, this time as the host of the prestigious Vanguard Awards taking place at the Joburg Theatre on 7 August.

LootLove’s return marks another milestone in her relationship with the awards after she was honoured with the Entertainment Radio Presenter of the Year accolade at the 2025 Basadi in Music Awards ceremony.

The celebrated broadcaster has become one of South Africa’s most recognisable voices in entertainment, earning praise for her work on radio and television while championing local music and culture.

Speaking ahead of the event, LootLove said she is honoured to take on the hosting role for an awards ceremony dedicated to recognising women who continue to shape the country’s music industry.

“Winning at the Basadi in Music Awards last year was an incredibly special moment in my career. To return this year as the host of the Vanguard Awards is a full-circle moment and a privilege. I’m looking forward to celebrating the phenomenal women whose talent, resilience and contributions continue to inspire the industry and the next generation,” she said.

The Vanguard Awards form part of the annual Basadi in Music Awards programme, which celebrates women making a significant impact across the South African music industry. The ceremony recognises artists, executives, creatives and pioneers whose work continues to influence and elevate the sector.

Organisers said LootLove’s appointment reflects her influence within the entertainment industry and her commitment to amplifying the voices of women in music.

“LootLove embodies excellence, authenticity and the spirit of celebrating women. Having her host the Vanguard Awards adds to what promises to be an unforgettable evening dedicated to recognising trailblazers and changemakers in our industry,” the organisers said.

The Vanguard Awards will take place at the Joburg Theatre on 7 August, bringing together some of the country’s leading artists and music industry professionals to honour women whose achievements continue to redefine the South African music landscape.
