South Africa-based Zimbabwean content creator Ndoyisile Ndumiso Sibindi has defended himself after facing online criticism and questions about whether he is legally documented to live in South Africa.
The social media personality, who has built a large following through comedy skits, lifestyle content and commentary videos, responded to the allegations in a lengthy social media post in which he defended his success and accused his critics of hypocrisy.
Ndoyisile, who was born in Zimbabwe and has established his career in South Africa, has become one of the country’s most recognisable digital creators, working with brands and amassing a significant online audience through his entertaining and often outspoken content.
Responding to the criticism, he said his achievements were the result of years of hard work rather than immigration advantages.
“I got to where I am at a young age through hard work and content creation. Not a British passport that someone acquired after paying huge amounts and lies on visa applications or sleeping with musicians, thank God I don’t get pregnant.”
He went on to criticise South Africans and Zimbabweans living abroad whom he believes look down on others after obtaining foreign citizenship.
“Y’all go overseas to work as caregivers, then after two to five years, you get citizenship and start acting like you are better than people. Nothing is glamorous about moving overseas. We know all the details, but you will never see us judging you or saying anything. Instead, we congratulate you for breaking generational cycles.”
Ndoyisile also urged people not to treat others as inferior based on the passports they hold.
“Now just because you hold a red passport, you want to act like God’s greatest gift to earth? Sit your bleaching ass down. You once suffered before you got that. Don’t ever think you are better than any human being.”
He ended his message with a warning to those continuing to attack him online, saying he was prepared to respond publicly if the criticism persisted.
The social media exchange follows growing online debate surrounding foreign nationals living and working in South Africa, with immigration status frequently becoming a topic of discussion on digital platforms. At the time of publishing, there has been no official indication or evidence suggesting that Ndoyisile is unlawfully residing in South Africa, and he did not directly address his immigration documentation in his statement.
