Stylist to the stars, Fayisa Webb runs her boutique store in Randburg, Johannesburg, with four employees and a loyal clientele.
She has an eye for detail, a love for storytelling through fashion and style. Webb is known for transforming stars into red-carpet royalty.
Her style is classic, elegant, yet quirky and expressive. Webb’s brand Stars Lifestyle Boutique customises garments and also hires out outfits for special occasions. Her hard work, paired with passion and creativity, has led her to build a successful empire and become a force on many red carpets.
The 26year-old law student has dressed the likes of renowned actress Nunu Khumalo, BET Award winner – Makhadzi, DJ and influencer Cyan Boujee, Club hostess Inno Morolong, Bacardi singer – Jelly Babie, news anchor Masechaba Mposwa, and singer Azurede, to name a few.
Born and raised in the small town of Klerksdorp in the North West, Fayisa Webb has built an empire using her creativity and love for fashion in just two years.
She is the lastborn child out of eight children. After high school, she started working at a luxury boutique in Sandton for three years and learned the ins and outs of running a business before starting her own.
Her love for fashion comes from her mother, who was a crafty seamstress before passing away 14 years ago. The self-taught stylist and fashion designer learned by watching her mom make garments and fell in love with creating timeless and unique pieces. Through her love for good garments, she saved the little she made working in retail to start her own brand.
“I had nothing when I started, but I was eager to learn. Fashion for me is a gift. I started making clothes at home. I opened my business online, tailor-making clothes then it grew. I received a lot of support from clients who believed in me.”
While still learning the craft of fashion design, she would sketch her ideas and give them to tailors to execute.
“At first, I designed garments on paper and would conceptualise with my tailor and a seamstress what. I was almost the creative middleman. Until now. Later, I included the hiring business where I imported some of the clothes and others would be original pieces. For me, styling isn’t just about clothes or throwing something on that fits. But it’s about confidence, uniqueness, and authenticity. Portraying a person’s character through each piece,” Webb concludes.
