A man (30) has been arrested on Tuesday 03 June 2025 at Kabokweni, outside White River, following allegations that he murdered his elder sister (44) then concealed her body in a shallow grave where he resides.

According to information, the police received details about a man who reportedly indicated that he had buried his elder sister’s body in the yard of his place of residence at Kabokweni. The man further claimed that he had a heated argument with his sister on 29 May 2024. According to him, the situation then turned ugly where he allegedly struck her, leading to her death. He then kept quiet and remained with this huge secret in his heart for a period of about a year.
The body of the female victim has not yet been exhumed however relevant stakeholders, including the Forensic Services in the SAPS, as well as the K9 (Dog) Unit were notified about the incident and due processes will follow. Developments surrounding this incident will be communicated with the public in due course.

The Acting Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General (Dr) Zeph Mkhwanazi emphasized that the Investigation team will leave no stone unturned and members thereof will ensure that a thorough probe is conducted to get a picture of what has transpired on that fateful day.
