He is the bad boy of South African reality TV. Since he made it out of the Big Brother Mzansi season three house, he has made only controversial headlines. Themba Broly Mabaso has now recently been implicated in a physical altercation that left renowned producer Nicey Beatz with injuries after being attacked by approximately 15 men.

According to a close friend and source present on the day of the assault, Nicey Beatz, Themba Broly and other well-known individuals had a photoshoot for a music video of a song they had recorded in Maboneng, downtown Johannesburg. At around 4 am on Saturday, they wrapped the shoot and proceeded to go to Nicey’s apartment to download the footage. “We saw Themba harassing some lady outside the apartment, and we tried to stop him. He was very drunk,” the friend said. “When that ended, he got into an altercation with another guy, whom he beat to a pulp. Themba beat the guy so badly, we thought he was going to die. We tried to stop him, but he overpowered us.” After the brawl, Themba is said to have left the apartment.”

Nicey was left alone at his apartment, where he also records music. “Everyone left, and he was alone at his apartment. At around 11 am Nicey heard a harsh knock at the door and people attempting to kick the door open,” the friend says. “He came out to answer. There were about 15 guys; one of them was the guy Themba had beaten up. He had come back with his friends to settle his score with Themba,” the friend added. “Nicey did not let them into his apartment because he has valuable music and video equipment at home. He stepped out, and they proceeded to scream and shout, asking for Themba. He told them he was not involved in the altercation earlier and he had tried to stop Themba instead. He doesn’t know where Themba stays, and he was not very close to him.” Before he could explain further, the guys had turned violet and dragged the producer downstairs to reception and assaulted him. “They beat him so badly he needed medical care. He lost a lot of blood,” the friend said. “At the time, there was no security in sight. When one guard eventually arrived, they were able to chase the guys out of the apartment block. But he was injured.”

Speaking to Buzz Life News, Nicey said he is livid about the incident. “Everyone knows I am a peaceful person. I tried to stop a fight – but ended u getting hurt,” he said. “I work with a lot of big artists, and I don’t want this sort of thing to ruin my business. I have not been able to work due to injuries caused by Thembas’ actions. He was drunk; I don’t know what else he could have taken, but what happened was terrible.” Nicey has gone for a check and received a J88 and will be opening a case with the Jeppe Police Station in Johannesburg.

This is not the first time; Themba is involved in a brawl at a Joburg nightclub during a drinking spree. After the breakup with Big Brother season three winner and the mother of his lastborn, Mphowabadimo, he has made controversial headlines. Mphowabadimo said their relationship brought nothing but drama to her life. I even lost out on work because of the scandals you dragged into my name. I have not forgotten; I will never forget, but I have been quiet,” she said.
