Over the weekend, Gospel singer Xolly Mncwango scooped Best Gospel Album and Best Female Artist at the Metro FM awards. She never imagined it! “I did not see this coming. I didn’t think I’d win Best Female Artist, it was literally a surprise to me,” Mncwango says. “It’s not about winning the most awards, but about God’s favor and grace and him being the amplifier of our steps.”

Her collection of awards now includes a SAMA for Best Contemporary Faith Music, a Crown Gospel Award for, Best Female Artist of the Year, and Best Streamed Song – Ungukuphila, just to name a few. Being recognised by the prestigious and sought-after Metro FM Awards is an hounour.

“Winning Best Gospel Album is a testament to God’s unusual and mighty works in my life, I did think of it based on the testimonies and the hard work that we’ve put in. I’m grateful and humbled by His blessings and such recognition. Above all I am honoured to be a vessel!”

With more that 10 years of making music, Xolly’s reason for winning is her son. “My son is a precious motivation for my hard work and legacy. Inspiring him through my achievements will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on his life,” she says. “Leaving a legacy that shows him the value of perseverance, dedication, and passion will be a priceless gift that will shape his own journey and aspirations.”

The awards represent the recognition of her hard work, dedication, and passion for sharing the Gospel through music. “But more than that, they serve as a reminder of God’s faithfulness, grace, and favor in my life.
