Barely a week after Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule was diagnosed with lung cancer. Her family has been hit by another tragedy.

The Ukhozi FM presenter and founder of the Crown Gospel Awards were allegedly attacked by four invaders in their home in KwaNdengezi outside Durban pointed them with guns. The robbers did not harm anyone but made off with their belongings before fleeing the scene.

The incident happened on Friday night while they were watching TV and heard a knock on the door. “We heard a knock and asked who it was. They said they were looking for directions and when we opened, four armed men barged in,” the family member said. “They pointed guns at us and instructed us to give them our belongings; cellphones and money.”

KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda also confirmed the incident and said a case of house robbery was opened. “KwaNdengezi police are investigating a case of house robbery following an incident at Tom Tom in KwaNdengezi on Friday, 10 May. It’s alleged that four unknown armed men entered the house and robbed family members of their cell phones. The suspects fled the scene in a white getaway vehicle,” said Netshiunda.
