“Colour is key to your health, as the colours of fruit and vegetables are often linked to the nutrients, vitamins and minerals they contain. Eating a variety of fruit and vegetables daily helps you stay healthy, while you reap their nutrition and health benefits,” says Arthur Ramoroka, Tiger Brands’ Company Nutritionist.
“My advice is always to try eat a combination colours throughout the day, such as peaches and apricots with your porridge at breakfast, red and green vegetables in a salad during lunch, and purple and orange vegetables alongside your starch and protein for dinner. Legumes, such as baked beans, are also packed with fibre, which is essential for digestive wellbeing and to keep you regular,” he continues.
