Just weeks before a milestone birthday of 100, American icon, actress, and comedian Betty White has died. A report from TMZ, says Betty passed away at her home on New Years Eve, just before 9:30 AM Friday.

With a career of more than eight decades, as America’s sweetheart, she started her entertainment career on radio in the late 1930s and made her TV debut singing on an experimental channel in Los Angeles in 1939. She became a household name and by 1960s and early ’70s, Betty was hosting coverage of the annual Tournament of Rose Parade and Match Game and Password.
She married Allen Ludden, her third husband, in 1963.
She acted in television sitcoms The Golden Girls and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Betty had the longest running career for any woman in TV prior to her death.
