For the next two months SABC 1 drama-series Uzalo will be introducing several characters to deliver exciting twist and riveting storylines.
Uzalo is committed to giving the viewers what the want – exciting storylines, jaw-dropping cliffhangers and talented South African actors To start, they introduce character Jombigazi played by Jabulani Makhubo (35) also known as Sjava. Jombigazi will play Mageba’s right-hand man and part of Nkunzi’s former alliance.
Trigger happy, calculating, deeply steeped in hostel culture. Uzalo Executive Producer Mmamiste Thibedi describes Jombigazi as trigger happy.
“He is a trigger-happy young man. He has worked with Mageba since he was a kid. He is loyal to Mageba and no other. He always wears a mean face and if you see him smile, know that you there’s trouble coming your way. He’s racked up a big body count, and he’s not done yet,” she says.
“He loves Maskandi music and Gqom. He is a man of few words. He is never without his leather jacket, even on the hottest day.”
Uzalo management believes Sjava was the most suited candidate for the part.
“He’s perfect because he’s a great performer and his musical persona is aligned with this creator we created. He’s Unapologetic about his culture the raw energy he possesses isis exactly what the role requires.”
Sjava’s character will debut on Uzalo on 6 November 2020 at 20:30 on SABC 1
