South African designer Mzukisi Mbane is gearing up for a major career moment as he prepares to showcase his label Imprint at Paris Fashion Week, following a recent creative boost from a masterclass at the Balenciaga headquarters.
Mbane, known for his bold, colourful and proudly African designs under his brand Imprint, has been building steady international attention over the years. Now, things are moving to a bigger stage, with Paris Fashion Week set to be one of his biggest showcases yet.
Before the runway moment, he spent time at the headquarters of luxury fashion house Balenciaga, where he attended a masterclass that gave him a closer look at high-end design processes and how global luxury brands operate behind the scenes.

That experience is now feeding into what he’s preparing to show in Paris.
Imprint is now part of a growing wave of South African designers stepping into international fashion spaces on their own terms, bringing local stories to global runways without changing their core identity.
All eyes will be on Paris when Mbane finally presents what could be one of his most important collections to date.
