The family of late rapper Sinesipho “Bravo Le Roux “ Peter (30) are pleading with DIRCO to bring home the remains of rapper Bravo Le Roux.
His family first launched a fundraiser to repatriate his body from Switzerland. After his death on 22 January, the family has since revealed that Bravo Le Roux died by suicide.
Calling for help from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to repatriate the body, Gcobani Ndzongana wrote a letter directed to DIRCO spokesperson Clayson Monyela.
“I am writing on behalf of the Peter family to kindly request your intervention in the repatriation of the body of their son @bravoleroux who tragically committed suicide in Switzerland,” the letter reads.
“The family is deeply grieving this loss and is seeking urgent assistance from the Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) to facilitate the necessary processes for bringing his remains back to South Africa. We understand that such matters involve coordination with Swiss authorities, consular services, and possibly funeral repatriation protocols,” Ndzongana said.
“Any guidance or support you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated, including information on required documentation, costs involved, and steps to expedite the process. Thank you for your attention to this sensitive matter. We look forward to your prompt response.”
Bravo was a newlywed to wife and DJ Sab and recently welcomed their daughter. His family disclosed that his untimely death was by suicide.
The family’s plea comes amid financial strain to bring his body back to South Africa for burial, with repatriation costs believed to be high. An earlier appeal to the South African embassy in Bern for financial assistance was reportedly declined in line with standard consular practice, leaving the family to seek other avenues of support.
Fans have also formidably reached out to DJ Black Coffee for assistance in public social media platforms, and he asked to be excluded from the matter.
