Umhlobo Wenene FM announces that voting for Ingoma Yonyaka 2025 is officially open following 40 000 nominations received during the nomination period which closed on Friday, 21 November 2025.
In partnership with Black Mobile, the Official Technology and Voting Partner, the campaign now enters its next stage.
Each year, Ingoma Yonyaka brings Umhlobo Wenene FM listeners together in choosing the song that shaped their 2025, and it remains one of the station’s key annual traditions. The Top 10 most nominated songs now move into the public voting round.
Listeners stand a chance to win their share of R25 000 every week which will be awarded to the top two voters. The artist whose song is crowned Ingoma Yonyaka 2025 will also receive R25 000.
“Ingoma Yonyaka captures the music our people connected with throughout the year. The 40 000 nominations show the impact these songs had in 2025. As voting opens, every vote helps us choose a song that truly reflects our listeners,” said Eastern Cape Combo Business Manager, Loyiso Bala.
