After an emotional breakdown on social media. Pretoria vocalist Tebogo G Mashego, 22, has been admitted into a psychiatric facility.

His family confirmed he is in the safe hands of medical practitioners.

They requested time as a family to deal with the incident involving their child.”

His family thanked his fans and the public for the support they received during this time.

They said that at this stage, no further statements will be issued. Should there be any updates, his fans would be updated.

Mashego was forcefully removed from the community by police in Laudium, Tshwane, on Wednesday after showing “signs of violence.”

“Tebogo G Mashego has not been arrested. Information received indicates he displayed abnormal behaviour and allegedly acted violently, assaulting people without apparent cause,” police confirmed.

“Laudium SAPS members were summoned to the scene and, in the interest of public safety, had to forcefully remove him from the community as he was resisting.”

The outbursts started while he was traveling to Nigeria with his team.

He accused the legendary producer of owing him millions during a live video on social media last week.

In the video, he also hurled insults at DJ Maphorisa and Sony Music, claiming his team had prevented him from returning home due to contractual obligations.

“I came here with people, and when we got here, they started changing. I asked them to buy me a ticket so I could return home. Now they say there’s no way I can go because they signed a contract,” Mashego said.
