The company, Pent Up Investment owned by Costas Couremetis has filed papers with the Johannesburg High Court asking for Motaung’s estate to be sequestrated after claiming that he still owes them money from a property deal that was made more than 10 years ago. Couremetis ‘s son Christopher signed the deal with Motaung before his death in 2010. Reports said Motaung was supposed to buy a commercial property in Mondeor, south of Johannesburg, for R9 million. However, according to Couremetis, he never paid the full amount.

The court granted judgment in 2009. Since then, Motaung has paid around R6 million but still owes another R4.3 million. The investment company said, there have been several meetings and promises of payment which have not materialized. Motaung and his lawyer agreed to a settlement at one stage, but the payments stopped again soon after. It is alleged that despite the debt, Motaung is “living a flashy life” and that is not sitting well with investors. “He appears wealthy and successful but doesn’t pay what he owes,” said Couremetis in his affidavit.
