According to a source, a week ago, Lesley opened a case of assault with the police and Thulani was taken into the police station for questioning. “He was arrested in fact, not just taken in for questioning,” the insider revealed. “He currently has a pending assault case with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. He was arrested and called DJ Maphorisa to help bail him out.” The source says Lesley will be pursuing the matter further as he was badly hurt. “He was hurt badly and had to go to the hospital. He is still going for a check for his foot. Thulani needs to pay his medical bills, and he won’t rest until he gets justice.”

In a previous report, Lesley went to one of Thulani’s events to demand the R15 000 payment he was owed for booking an artist. Instead of getting his money, Lesley alleges that Thulani’s bouncers attacked him and beat him until his foot became swollen. He said the beating was so severe that he could barely walk and now requires regular medical care. “My foot is badly injured. I’ve been going for regular checks,” he says. “I did my job, he didn’t pay me, and that gives him no right to assault me or send his bouncers to me,” Lesley added. “If he wanted to get physical, he could have come to me one-on-one and not send bouncers and security.
When asked about the incident, Way denied knowing Lesley.
“Who is that?” he said before hanging up the phone. Thulani calls himself a “Culture Evangelist,” founded the Amapiano Summit.
