The Moshito Exhibition and Conference has been running for more than 20 years. Former actor, music executive, and funeral palour owner Tshepo “ZuzMuzi” Nzimande has been accused of wasteful and irregular expenditure and malpractice and claims a whooping R30-million unaccounted for between 2014 and 2025.

He said the Moshito board has failed to explain and account for how the millions were spent. “There was no annual meeting last year to address all these issues. The department got a report without financial statements. This is not legal. Some people benefitting from the festival are not musicians or in the industry but are being used to steal money.”

Last year, he accused the long-standing entity, which is supported by the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture, of alleged ‘governance failures’ and misappropriation of funds at the hands of its chairman Stanley Khoza.
