Music stars Nadia Nakai and Toss are joining forces for a new collaborative EP, Do’s & Dont’s, a project that explores love, communication, conflict and the complications that can arise when two people come from very different backgrounds.
The EP is set to arrive on all major digital streaming platforms on 18 September 2026.
From viral moment to musical collaboration
The collaboration follows a viral moment earlier this year when Nadia and Toss shared a kiss in Toss’s music video, released on Valentine’s Day.
The scene quickly fuelled dating rumours and speculation about the nature of their relationship, putting the two artists in the spotlight and creating intrigue around their unexpected musical partnership.
Do’s & Dont’s builds on that curiosity, using the idea of two people falling for each other despite being shaped by very different environments as the foundation for the project.
Toss brings his perspective from the hood, while Nadia’s suburban upbringing provides a contrasting viewpoint. The artists explore how those differences can influence communication, expressions of love, conflict and perceptions of loyalty.
Different worlds, different rules
Across the EP, Nadia and Toss explore different stages of a relationship, from attraction and excitement to arguments, jealousy, trust issues and the difficulty of meeting each other halfway.
The songs present situations from both perspectives, highlighting how the same experience can be interpreted differently depending on a person’s background and expectations.
The project also sees both artists move beyond the genres they are most closely associated with.
Nadia has established herself as a prominent figure in South African Hip Hop, while Toss has become a recognised name in the Amapiano scene. Rather than simply combining the two genres, Do’s & Dont’s sees the pair experiment with a sound that moves beyond their usual musical spaces.
The collaboration is expected to challenge the expectations of both artists’ audiences while showcasing different sides of their artistry.
More than a love story
While romance sits at the centre of the EP, Do’s & Dont’s also touches on broader issues including class, culture and communication.
The project examines what happens when two people raised with different ideas about relationships attempt to build a connection.
Through its themes of attraction, misunderstandings, jealousy and compromise, the EP presents relationships as both exciting and complicated – particularly when two different worlds collide.
