South African vocalist Judith Sephuma is set to return to gospel music with a special live recording at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg later this year.
The celebrated singer will present Judith Sephuma – A Worship Experience on Friday, 27 November 2026, at the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace.
The event comes nine years after Sephuma released her gospel album My Worship in 2017. Since then, fans have continued to call for the award-winning vocalist to return to the gospel genre.
Rather than simply releasing another studio album, Sephuma is choosing to document her return through an immersive live worship experience, bringing together music, faith, testimony and the energy of a live audience.
A deeply personal project
The live recording will see Sephuma and her musicians perform songs from her upcoming gospel project in front of an audience, with the atmosphere and spontaneous moments of the evening forming part of the final recording.
For Sephuma, the project represents more than a musical comeback. It reflects her personal faith, growth and the experiences she has encountered since the release of My Worship.
“Worship, for me, is more than a song – it is a lifestyle and a daily surrender to God. Through every season, God’s grace has carried me, turning my pain into purpose and my tears into testimony,” Sephuma said.
“Being a child of God means walking in the assurance of His love, and my life is simply a vessel for His glory. Nine years later, we are ready to deliver A Worship Experience.”
Fans become part of the recording
Unlike a conventional concert or album launch, the event will give fans an opportunity to play a direct role in the creation of Sephuma’s new gospel project.
Their voices, energy and responses throughout the evening will be captured as part of the recording, helping preserve the atmosphere and emotion of the live worship experience.
The performance is expected to combine new material with selected favourites from Sephuma’s acclaimed musical repertoire.
