DJ and media personality Lamiez Holworthy-Morule has been forced to put her demanding entertainment schedule on hold after she was rushed to hospital and underwent an emergency surgical procedure.
The alarming news was confirmed by her management in a media statement issued on Sunday, 9 August.
“ We would like to inform the fans, clients, event promoters, partners and stakeholders of Lamiez Holworthy that she was rushed to hospital and required an emergency surgical procedure,” her management said.
Despite the seriousness of the situation, the statement offered some relief, confirming that the popular entertainer’s condition is not life-threatening.
“We confirm that her condition is not life-threatening,” the statement continued.
However, the medical emergency has already disrupted a packed schedule for the star, who is known for maintaining one of the busiest calendars in South African entertainment.
“This will affect remaining events tonight and on the 10th August, we sincerely apologise to event promoters, organisers, clients and partners for any inconvenience caused,” management said.
Lamiez’s team added that affected parties would be contacted directly, with revised dates for bookings to be issued once she has been medically cleared to return to work.
“Management will contact affected parties and will issue revised dates for bookings once Lamiez has been medically cleared to resume her professional commitments.”
The news comes at a time when the 34-year-old has continued to juggle multiple roles across the entertainment industry. Lamiez is not simply a DJ who performs at occasional events.
