The Department of Employment and Labour has confirmed that a body was discovered at the Seshego Labour Centre on Saturday outside of normal operating hours.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) was immediately alerted, and a forensic investigation is now underway.
The department said in a statement that the matter is being treated as a police investigation, and no conclusions can be drawn at this stage.
The Department has admitted that this is the second time in two weeks that the property has been at the centre of potential crime incidents.
A case of infrastructure theft was reported at the same office last week, which is also under investigation by SAPS. However, officials say it is too early to link the two incidents.
The labour centre has since been secured, with access being controlled in line with safety and investigative requirements.
Meanwhile, the Department of Employment and Labour says it is fully cooperating with law enforcement and will await the outcome of the investigation before making further comment.
