Controversial music executive and outspoken commentator Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi has issued a public apology following reports that his visa was revoked while abroad in the US.

In a post shared on 10 September, Controversial personality Nota described one of the rallies held in American political commentator Charlie Kirk’s honour as “racist” and added, “they’re hurt that the racist rally ended in attempted martyrdom.”

The State Department followed by having his US Visa revoked due to alleged “hate speech.” The United States has no obligation to host foreigners who wish death on Americans.

“The State Department continues to identify visa holders who celebrated the heinous assassination of Charlie Kirk. Here are just a few examples of aliens who are no longer welcome in the U.S.”

They alleged that individuals such as Baloyi, celebrated the assassination attempt on Kirk.

“A South African national mocked Americans grieving the loss of Kirk, saying “they’re hurt that the racist rally ended in attempted martyrdom” and alleging “he was used to astroturf a movement of white nationalist trailer trash,” they shared.

Following backlash, Baloyi later posted an apology on X (formerly Twitter), for his actions.

“I would like to make it known that I unconditionally apologise to all those who felt my post was insensitive & ill-timed in any context,” he said.

“I have noted the reactions & response of no more than 10comments to a post which I feel were prompted by the state department’s announcement…”

Digital law expert, Rorke Wilson, has encouraged people to continue using social media confidently and responsibly, despite recent US efforts to regulate online speech.

“I don’t think we need to be increasingly cautious. I think we need to be as cautious as we’ve always been when you’re speaking on a public platform, you know? When we’re dealing with social media, it’s a public, searchable, permanent format, so you need to conduct yourself accordingly in those ways,” Wilson said.

Kirk, 31, a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, was well-known for his influence among young conservative voters, often using inflammatory rhetoric on issues such as gender, race, and immigration.
