Amapiano sensation Leemckrazy, real name Linda Mnisi (22), is happy to be alive after he escaped death during a failed car hijacking attempt in Johannesburg recently. The incident left the star’s eye hurt, but they took time out to recover and are currently safe and healed.

A close friend to the Kokotela singer revealed he had been booked to perform at Cosmopolitan nightclub in Maboneng, Johannesburg, when the incident happened. “It was a great night, everyone looked like they were having a good time,” the friend says. “Leemckrazy and his friends were done performing, and they were about to leave,” the source says. “His car was parked outside at the front of the club, in the on-street parking.” The friend says four of them entered the car, but someone realised they left something inside the club. “One of the guys opened the door to the car, and about five guys came and pepper-sprayed everyone. They poured some type of acid and pepper-sprayed Leemckrazy. But when they recognised it was him, they ran off.”

The insider says Leemckrazy ran back into the club to call bouncers, and the criminals had fled without the car. “They rushed him to the hospital to get his eye treated. They said, had he waited longer, there was a chance he could have been seriously injured.” The friend says that because he was okay after, a case was not opened with the police. “He is just happy to be alive and safe, and his car was not stolen. He got some time off work just to recover, but he is back working again.” When called about the matter, Leemckrazy said, “I’m working, all is good.” His management at Gipa Entertainment has not responded regarding the safety of their artists. Not long ago, the headlight sto Leemckrazy’s Volkswagen polo were stolen at a parking lot.
