Former Minister of Finance Malusi Gigaba has officially completed his PhD in Public Management and Governance from UJ’s College of Business and Economics at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and is gearing up for his graduation this year.
His academic paper published alongside scholars Eric Blanco Niyitunga and Dominique Emmanuel Uwizeyimana, they focus on “leveraging digital infrastructure to drive rural economic development in South Africa.” It reads, “Digital infrastructure will have the potential to become an enabler in strengthening rural economic development, engendering economic growth, enabling more and better access to education and healthcare, and improving livelihoods.”

This comes after back and forth in court with his ex-wife, Norma Mngoma where Gigaba successfully obtained a temporary court order to stop the airing of an interview conducted by Relebogile Mabotja with his ex-wife, Noma Mngoma, on the Showmax for the series “Untied.” The talk show dives into the often messy, always emotional world of divorce, told through the eyes of famous South African women who’ve been through it all.
