“Oh what a great time we had together” – Selbeyonce bids farewell to Ukhozi FM

After 13 years of serving Ukhozi FM as a presenter, Selby “Selbeyonce” Mkhize bids farewell to the SABC station on 18 June 2025.

The station manager, Luhamba Phambili said in a statement her departure was filled with mixed emotions. “A cherished member of the station family since 2012,” the statement reads. “Over the years, Selby has been a vibrant and influential voice on the station, earning numerous accolades and proudly flying the Ukhozi GM flag with distribution. Her hard work, energy, and infectious spirit have left an incredible mark on the station and its listeners.”

Selbeyonce confirmed her departure. “The time has come for me to say goodbye to the mighty Ukhozi FM. What an amazing 13 years it has been,” she said. “Jehova, I don’t even know what to say or where to start. God, I thank you for the talent you have given me and I never take it for granted. Thank you, lord, for the best job in the world. The opportunities you have granted me, the people I have met and worked with, and the lives I have touched. Nkosi Ngiyabonga. Ngifuna ukubonga wena mlaleli. For the love you have given me throughout the years, ukungamukela kuloMsakazo ngezandla ezimhlophe. Oh, what a great time we had together. Honestly, I don’t know what to say, lapho I always have something to say. Shall we do this kahle on my last show tomorrow, and thank everyone who has played a pivotal role in my career Yeah?
