Renowned saxophonist and jazz icon McCoy Mrubata has just returned from a highly successful spring tour across the United States, where he captivated audiences with his dynamic performances in both intimate duet settings and full-band showcases.

U.S. Tour Highlights Maine Performances: Mrubata performed in a duet format with acclaimed American guitarist Gary Wittner, delivering a spellbinding blend of jazz and African influences. New York Showcases: He reunited with his American sextet, “Siyabulela” for electrifying performances at Dizzy’s Jazz Club (Jazz at Lincoln Center) and Newport Live, where he debuted new original material. New Music Preview: Among the fresh compositions, the crowd-favorite “Shukuma” attributed to the great Dr.Black Moses Ngwenya, founding member of the legendary “Soul Brothers” stood out. This is one of the tracks that will be recorded later this year at a New Jersey studio with his U.S. band. 

Back in South Africa: Hard Rock Café Concert McCoy’s first post-tour performance will be at Hard Rock Café on: 15 May 2025 featuring an all-star lineup: – Twiin Wele** (vocals/percussion) – Maxwell Baloyi** (piano) – Sipho Mabena** (bass) – Bernice Boikanyo** (drums).

Fans can expect a high-energy set blending jazz, Afro-soul, and the vibrant sounds that have made McCoy a global ambassador of South African music.
