Major League twins, Banele and Bandile Mbere were said to be booked to perform at an All Black Soiree party on 22 March at Imvelo Safari in Bloemfontein, however their duo did not show up and have not returned the deposit given to them by promoter Neo Lesako.

The Bakwa Lah DJs missed his event and never returned the R30,000 deposit and the promoter has threatened legal action for his funds and other losses including reputational damage.

The duo charged R60,000 for the performance and asked for a R30,000 deposit, which a booking agent Thabang Malatsi said he had sent an invoice. Major League wanted full payment upfront, however the promoter refused, for safety reasons. A source close to Major League said the promoter did not send the remainder of the booking fee. “We can’t risk to travel without the remainder of the booking fee.” A fuming promoter says the cancellation was bad for business. “We heard they were overseas. Why did they not advise on time?” The promoter asked for their deposit back so they could book DJ Stokie instead, but they failed to make payment. “The audience could have gotten out of hand and vandalise the place. Luckily nothing of the sort happened. But it was a great loss for our business.
