Gogo Maweni’s brother-in-law, Lindani (33) appeared on 5 February at the Vereeniging Magistrate’s Court for an alleged murder case.
Lindani is accused of murdering gobela (spiritual teacher) Faith Mafilika, also known as Baba Vondwe Mkhatshwa, and initiate Bandile Kubheka. He will remain in custody until 12 February for a formal bail application. Lindani was arrested on Friday, 31 January, on charges of murder.
Police confirmed that the accused is charged with a double murder. Police spokesperson Mavela Masondo detailed that after the incident last year in Orange Farm. Lindani was arrested following an investigation into the crime and charged with two counts of murder and the court was informed that the case is classified as a Schedule 6 offence and the bail application will be contested.
