He is a free man! US real estate business man, Gregory Wings has been cleared from charges of fraud related to the Burna Boy concert debacle which was meant to take place in September this year. Gregory was implicated in a case that involved Nigerian businessman living in the USA, Iheanyinchukwu Sedote Nwachukwu.
Wings’ legal representative says he came to South Africa as a tourist on August 25, 2023, with plans to explore the country on his first visit. “Additionally, he was in South Africa to oversee preparations for the Burna Boy concert, an investment he had undertaken with his business partner, Iheanyinchukwu Sedote Nwachukwu (whom we hereinafter refer to as “Sedote”). The concert was scheduled for September 23, 2023. Our client initially planned to return to the United States of America on August 26, 2023, with an anticipated arrival in the U.S. on August 27, 2023. “
However, due to various difficulties and issues surrounding the Burna Boy concert that required his attention, Wings decided to cancel all his flights,” the statement says. He grew concerned with the arrangements related to the planning and hype surrounding the concert. He then personally started engaging in direct planning with the stakeholders involved. He had initially invested an amount of $ 1 600 000.00 and was eager to salvage his investment as far as he could.
They statement goes to say that ,”On September 15, 2023, after learning same was still outstanding, our client visited the TicketPro to request advance payments to pay FNB Stadium Service providers. He received information from Brandon, an employee of TicketPro, that his business partner, Sedote, had already directed that all advance payments be paid to a bank account not known or related to Our client. The account had received an amount of R 8 900 000.00 and Our client. Our client concedes that he received an amount of R 783 211.05.”
Multiple other transfers were made thereafter to Nwachukwu. He has since allegedly vanished and untraceable, according to Wings and his legal team.
