The Connie Chiume Foundation (CCF) is thrilled to launch “Essence of South Africa,” an arts and culture showcase during the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans. With support from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, City of New Orleans and NOSACCON (New Orleans South African Connection), hosted at the New Orleans Jazz Museum, this initiative promotes diversity, cultural exchange, and empowerment in the arts business.
Led by Mama Connie Chiume, renowned actress and philanthropist, “The Essence of South Africa” will launch on 28 June 2023 in New Orleans and will kick off with a Stakeholder Engagement & Seminar , the initiative aims to create lasting connections and collaborations between South Africa, the Diaspora, and international arts communities, providing global economic opportunities for South African women in the arts.

Hosted at the prestigious New Orleans Jazz Museum, “The Essence of South Africa” team will be received by NOSACCON, the City of New Orleans, and Mayor Latoya Cantrell, blending the rich heritage of New Orleans with the vibrant spirit of South African culture.
