Over the weekend, newly appointed Deputy President Paul Mashatile walked down the aisle with Humile Mjongile, the widow of former ANC Western Cape secretary Songezo Mjongile.

Both having lost their partners in 2021, found comfort in each others arms. Paul lost his wife Manzi Ellen Mashatile died of COVID-19 a week after losing his mother Mashatile’s mother, Marriam Nomvula Mashatile. Humile’s husband died after a short battle with cancer.

The wedding took place at Humile’s family home in Leondale, Ekurhuleni, where he paid lobola. The deputy president’s spokesperson Keith Khoza confirmed the wedding to Buzz Life News stating that the no media has been invited. “It is a private ceremony for family and close friends, however we can confirm the lobola and celebrations.”

The couple is set to hist their white wedding later in the year. “They are madly in love. We are happy for them, and may God bless their union,” said a close friend. “They both deserve love and to be happy. With leadership being deputy, he needs a strong family unit.”

Present at the celebrations was, Tokyo Sexwale, Nomvula Mokonyane, Fikile Mbalula, Nkenke Kekana, TK Nciza, Mzwandile Masina and many affluent busineness men and women.
