Telkom today revealed new internet deals, just in time for the cold Winter season and in light of the new lockdown level 3 which will both see more and more people work, study and entertain from home.

Smart Broadband wireless is available from R299 while Uncapped Fibre 25 Mbps is on promotion for R399.

“Connections mean so much more now than ever before. We have seen how our homes have changed from being where we go at the end of the day  to becoming literally a place for everything throughout the pandemic; and we expect the trend will continue into the third wave in South Africa. So, what you have on the one hand is the need to stay in touch with and feel connected to our loved ones during these challenging times whilst staying home and apart; and on the other hand, is the need for the internet connection to continue these day-to-day functions like working and studying from home,” explained Gugu Mthembu – Telkom’s Chief Marketing Officer.

“At Telkom we are always thinking about inclusivity and affordability for our customers. We understand that connectivity isn’t a luxury that should be afforded a few; but that it is a basic need and especially now as highlighted by the pandemic. We are always cognisant of bringing products and offerings to the market that provide value to our customers and are the most competitive in pricing.”

Responding to the home front connectivity needs of South Africans, Telkom will bring along some of its  influencer partners to drive the education around its broadband products, their benefits, accessibility and affordability. These influencers include Tumi Morake, Martelize Brink and Leigh-Anne Williams among others who will be empowering their followers in their respective home languages. This is in line with the company’s strategy to demystify technology and educate customers in their home languages as it continues its mission to leave no man behind.

The Smart Broadband Wireless Unlimited packages include a home and business option; with the home deal available for R299 and operated through the Huawei LTE MiFI Router. Business deals on offer are the Business Hours option from Midnight and now extended to 7pm for R399 over 24 months and the All Hours option for R749; both ideal for heavy data users, streaming unlimited LTE broadband and include 300 Telkom-to-Telkom minutes. Meanwhile the uncapped fibre deal at 25Mbps for R399 includes a router and installation, no Fair Usage Policy (FUP) threshold and the option of a voice service.

Customers can also add a UPS to any fibre or DSL deal and selected SmartBroadband deals in order to stay connected throughout load-shedding from R41 or extend their WiFi connection in their homes for R75 for a WiFi Mesh.
