Management Consulting and Project Management organisation agency Momba Projects in collaboration with Greenflag and SDI undertook to fit 5000 Scholar Association of Education vehicles and buses respectively, with COVID-19 Risk mitigation interventions.

The project started in July 2020 during a very cold South African winter at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic. While in full lockdown, the Scholar Associations across Gauteng acted promptly to avail their vehicles for fittings across all regions of the Gauteng province.

Members and leaders from these associations came in numbers to ensure the safe passage of learners and apply the interventions to their various vehicles.
These interventions included: Four window stoppers per vehicle, which prove a vital component in ensuring that windows remain open to allow sufficient airflow into the vehicle when stationary and moving. This is a key element in the prevention of the COVID -19 and other airborne viruses. The evidence that keeping the windows open continues to mount and we are supported by medical experts and Occupational Health specialists to this end.
The second fitting is a sanitiser bottle which is installed into the entrance of the back of the vehicles so that learners can sanitise their hands when entering their daily transport.

From October to January 2020 Momba Projects with the Department of Education fitted 2000 school busses. This was a huge accomplishment for the Department of Education in Gauteng and the team at Momba projects, as both parties say they commit to the safety of children while traveling to and from school.

Supported and funded by FNB and Bridge Taxi finance, their sponsors have kept close to this vital project in more than just financial commitment.
