After a good 11 year run with Western Province tear, Siya Kolisi is set to be joining  KwaZulu Natal based team, Cell C Sharks.
The Springboks captain’s contract was set to end in October 2021, but he opted not to renew. Siya’s contract ends with him being the second-most capped DHL Stormers player after Schalk Burger.
The DHL Stormers team bid him a farewell and wished him all the best.
“It is time for us to say farewell to DHL Stormers legend, after an 11-year journey with WP Rugby. Thanks for all of the incredible memories and always giving everything for the jersey and the DHL Stormers Faithful Siya,” the wrote in a statement.
DHL Stormers Head Coach John Dobson thanked his contribution over the years.
“Siya Kolisi will always be one one our own. He is a DHL Stormers legend,” says Dobson. “His story is known throughout the world and we are grateful. We would have loved for him to stay and finish his career where it started, but we wish him well.”

Siya signed with dhl Stormers straight out of school and learned his trade at the Western Province Rugby Institute. He also played in the DHL Western Province U19 team in 2010.
Kolisi joined the Springboks at age 22 and in 2017 he was appointed DHL Stormers captain before being appointed Springbok captain in 2018.
In 2020 he started the Kolisi Foundation, providing relief for vulnerable communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
