YouTuber and gossip-girl Owamie Hlongwane revealed in a vlog that she and husband Bigguy Hlongwane were in the process of getting a divorce following cheating allegations.
The vlogger shared the detail of her the divorce on Friday.
“I’ve never felt that much pain. The last time I felt that much pain was when my mother died.”
Owamie says what hurt her most was that he lied and claimed she is the one who had cheated.
“He lacked to tell people the truth and he went out and told people I cheated on him instead. I can laugh about it because I have dealt with it but I am at a much better place now. 2020 was a difficult year for me,” she said.

Owamie removed her wedding ring and a ring she had received as a gift from her husband last year after she found out about the alleged cheating. “I removed my rings a long time ago. Our divorce is not finalised and will be final by February.”

The two got married when Owamie was 21 years old and says he had never cheated in the past.
“I found out he had been cheating on me since April 2020 and we fought. I was fully invested in the marriage and I found he cheated with someone frying meat on the side of the road,” she said.
“There’s nothing wrong with doing that job, I used to cook pap on the side of the road and I struggled to leave that place, for him to go back and cheat with someone who did what I did that was not okay.”

Owamie claims Bigguy asked her to quit YouTube. some time ago, but she carried on shooting content for her channel.
“At first I thought he wasn’t comfortable with my celebrity content. But he later said he wasn’t comfortable with me making more money than him,” she added.
“Bigguy is not a bad person, but it made sense why he was attracted to the girl frying meat on the side of the road because it gave him power. He prefers a woman that stays at home, cooks and cleans and waits on her husband. We were clashing, and he never voiced it out until the cheating came up and I was not at the point of forgiving.”

Owamie believes that some men do not respect their marriages these days for many reasons and she left sorely because of the cheating.
“It is as if it’s not longer a requirement for black men to be faithful to black women. I was shocked at the advice I was getting, people asking me to bekezela (hang in there and not leave). I never felt as weak as I did last year. I kept my channel going, cried after filming and before and you guys did not see. I am proud I kept my channel alive.”

Owamie however still believes in love and she will be going back to using her Tshivenda surname. “I am not dating anyone at the moment, but there is still hope. I still believe in love.”
