WatchaTV is an online virtual stage which has represented a series of virtual concerts, streamed directly to the comfort of the fan’s homes. From the likes of Nduduzo Makhathini, Bokani Dyer, Guy Butery, Majozi, Tutu Puoane to name a few.

On Saturday, 13 June 2020, WatchaTV brings forth singing veteran sensation Sibongile Khumalo joined by Wandile Molefe on piano and Tshepo Mngoma on violin in a live and direct intimate and personal concert to local and global audiences.

Sibongile is the epitome of South Africa’s cultural expressions; the country’s most celebrated singer-songwriter, otherwise recognized as the ‘first lady of song’. A lady she is for sure.

Asked what she has in store for the audiences at home and abroad she said; “Saturday is going to be a musical adventure. Wandile and Tshepo will join me as take you through a jazzy, Afrocentric, and Ethno-soulful music journey.”

Joint partner of WatchaTV; Dr. Sipho Sithole says it is an honour to host the music giant.

“Sis Sibongile Khumalo was the first artist I first shared the idea of a virtual stage performance during Covid-19 lockdown, and this was even before I acquired a stake in WatchaTV,” he says.

“The fact that someone I respect so much agreed not only to grace this platform, but to embrace it as a sight of cultural and artistic expression, is a gesture I will forever be grateful for to her. As the cultural industries find a new way of doing things, let’s all be part of the new adventure as we journey to new possibilities. Let’s show some love to uSisi Sibongile Khumalo.”

Jurie Kruger, one of the partners of WatchaTV says, “When Dr. Sithole first broached the idea of bringing Sibongile Khumalo onto our platform, it looked like a far-fetched idea as I couldn’t believe that a humble live streaming platform like ours will host an artist off Ms. Khumalo’s stature. We are absolutely blessed and we looking forward to this ultimate showcase of what our country has. I am dusting off my trombone as I might just jump on stage to join her.”

WatchaTV Virtual Stage, through its
Live & Direct Concert,  promises to stage more shows that appeal to diverse audiences and is committed to being home for content creators across the cultural and creative industries spectrum who want to use this platform as a home for showcasing their work.
