South African reality television personality Jojo Robinson is celebrating 12 years of marriage to her husband, former professional boxer and businessman Calven Robinson.
The couple marked the milestone on Saturday, 20 September 2026, with Jojo taking her followers back to the beginning of their relationship by sharing a throwback video from their wedding day.
Alongside the memories, Jojo posted an emotional tribute to the man she affectionately calls “Boo Bear”.
“12 Years of The Robinsons. Happy Anniversary to the love of my life. The definition of what A MAN is meant to be. A life so magical it should be a Disney movie. Jojo + Boo Bear + Rocky Forever,” she wrote.
Their anniversary comes more than a decade after they first connected on social media, long before Jojo became a familiar face on South African reality television.
From social media meeting to marriage
Jojo and Calven first met through social media in 2012. Their relationship progressed quickly and, according to reports, Calven proposed just seven months after they met.
Jojo subsequently made a major move, relocating from Gauteng to KwaZulu-Natal to be with him.
Two years after their first meeting, the couple married on 20 September 2014 in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Their wedding was later featured on the popular lifestyle programme Top Billing.
The couple have since built a family together, including their son Rocco, and have regularly shared glimpses of their lives with their followers.
Their relationship has also played a significant part in Jojo’s public identity, particularly since she joined The Real Housewives of Durban.
Jojo’s rise to reality TV
Jojo joined The Real Housewives of Durban in its second season in 2022, alongside new cast members including Londie London and Thobile MaKhumalo Mseleku.
At the time, she was already known online for her distinctive personality and heavily tattooed look. She described herself as a tattoo fanatic and artist and said she wanted to use the reality show to challenge assumptions people made about those with tattoos.
“I decided to join this season because I wanted to give a new perspective to the tattooed community,” she told IOL at the time.
She also acknowledged that appearing on television required her to become comfortable with exposing more of her personal life.
“I mean, it’s easy to be you in the comfort of your own home but to be you in the comfort of your home with 50 people around you, filming, is difficult,” she said.
Her relationship with Calven was also part of the conversation. Jojo said he had been supportive of her decision to join the show and encouraged her to pursue the opportunity.
Calven Robinson and life away from the cameras
Calven, whom Jojo affectionately calls “Boo Bear”, has maintained a lower public profile than his wife but has become increasingly familiar to viewers through her social media posts and RHOD-related content.
He is a former professional fighter and businessman. He has also been associated with the Bluff Meat Supply butchery franchise in KwaZulu-Natal.
In March 2026, Jojo celebrated another major milestone in his life when she announced that he had retired after four decades of work.
“After 40 years of long hours and days, my Boo Bear has officially clocked out for good,” she wrote at the time, describing herself as proud of what he had achieved and of the life he had built for their family.
The couple subsequently launched a YouTube channel documenting their life after his retirement, with Jojo describing the next chapter as “Retired with the Robinsons”.
Their marriage in the public eye
Over the years, Jojo and Calven have continued to document holidays, family celebrations and everyday moments together.
Their anniversary celebrations have often been elaborate. In 2025, the couple marked their 11th wedding anniversary with a family getaway to Dubai and Abu Dhabi with their son. Jojo reflected at the time on her belief in love and the importance of family.
Their relationship was also revisited on The Real Housewives of Durban when the couple renewed their vows at Stonehaven Castle Estate, giving viewers another glimpse into their marriage.
For Jojo, however, the relationship has extended beyond the glamorous moments shared online.
In a 2025 interview following the fifth season of RHOD, she spoke about how much her life had changed since first appearing on the show and described the experience as one that had brought considerable personal growth.
