Rapper Mthembeni “Emtee” Ndevu (33) is currently being detained at Johannesburg Correctional Services, commonly referred to as “Sun City”, following his return to custody after violating the bail conditions in his ongoing case involving his estranged wife, Nicole Kendall Chinsamy.
Bail revoked after alleged breach
Emtee had his bail revoked at the Midrand Magistrates’ Court after he breached the conditions of his R1,000 bail.
The conditions prohibited him from posting or publishing anything on social media and from communicating with Nicole, which he later apologised for in a statement. He was later arrested after sending text messages to Chinsamy using an offensive name, which amounted to a breach of his release conditions.
Emtee’s new relationship takes a dramatic turn
During this time, Emtee had moved out of his home and was living with a friend in the Sandton area. He revealed that he had been dating singer Nandi Ndathane for more than a month following the breakdown of his relationship with Nicole. For breaking his protection order terms, he has been detained at Johannesburg Correctional Services.
Things have since also taken a drastic turn. Emtee’s mother, Phathiswa Ndevu, and his father, Lumkile Ndevu, have reportedly confided in a close source that their son’s new partner, Nandi, had taken possession of several of his belongings, including cellphones, a bank card, jewellery, clothes and cars.
”Nandi is refusing to hand over his belongings to his family,” the source says.
”Why is she holding onto his things? They have not even been together for two months; she is using his heartbreak to play him.”

In a video available to Buzz Life News, Emtee’s parents appear to confront Nandi inside a bus driven by one of his friends. They can be seen demanding that she hand over his bank card and cellphone.
The confrontation has added another dramatic chapter to the rapper’s increasingly complicated personal circumstances.
Family questions Nandi’s intentions.
The source claims Emtee’s younger brother, Luthando Ndevu, believes Nandi is taking advantage of the rapper and using his fame to advance herself.
“They are not married; why is she keeping his valuables, bank cards and possessions?” the source said.
The source further alleged that Nandi had been using her phone to contact other people and had gone as far as sending direct messages asking for money.
“She sent a DM to Maphorisa asking for money. Why?” the source said.
These allegations have not been independently verified.
Family pleads for help
Nandi and Emtee reportedly met during a music recording session before their relationship developed.
His family is now pleading for help in recovering his belongings, which they allege Nandi collected from his current place of residence in Rivonia, Johannesburg.
At the time of publication, Nandi had not responded to Buzz Life News to give her side of the story. She has therefore not had an opportunity to respond to the allegations made against her.
