The tragic death of rising Bacardi music artist Palesa sotetsi (20) has sparked shock and outrage after her body was reportedly discovered inside a refuse bin in Soshanguve, north of Pretoria.
Tsotetsi’s body was found after she had reportedly been missing for a period of time. Tsotetsi was reportedly found deceased after allegedly being shot in the head and placed inside a refuse bin in Soshanguve Extension 2. Police have since launched an investigation into her death.
While details surrounding the incident remain under investigation, reports suggest that Palesa may have suffered fatal injuries before her body was allegedly dumped in the bin.
Adding to the family’s anguish, Palesa’s mother, Lebohang Tsotetsi pleaded with the public to refrain from spreading unverified information about her daughter’s death on social media.
“She worked at a call centre in Centurion. She was jolly and an over achiever. She loved dancing and performing. How she lived outside in the streets, is none of my business, to us she was a loving child who had dreams, who was obedient. She was a star, a queen. I am sad. Finding her in the bin feels like my womb was thrown in the bin.”
At this stage, no arrests have been publicly announced. Police investigations remain ongoing as detectives work to establish the events leading up to Tsotetsi’s death and identify those responsible.
