Prominent businessman Thami Ndlala, the husband of radio host Lerato Kganyago and CEO of the Ndala Mall located in Arcadia, Centurion, has fallen short of paying his municipal bills for two of his properties and counting.
Dr. Nasiphi Moya, Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane, confirmed on social media that the municipality had disconnected electricity in another property owned by the alleged business tycoon for failure to pay municipal bills.
“We’ve disconnected electricity at another property owned by Thami Ndlala – Ndlala Dynasty, an accommodation facility in the Pretoria CBD. The property owes R2.3 million for electricity.
This is the second business where Ndala failed to pay he municipality. They switched off water and electricity at the Thami Ndlala Mall and Hotel Apartments after the property failed to pay R600,000 towards municipal bills. The Mall is attached to the Ndlala Oligarch Hotel and apartments.
“In December, we disconnected electricity at Thami Ndlala Mall and Hotel Apartments. They owed the city over R600,000. We were back today because they illegally reconnected without settlement of the account. In addition, this property owes over R1 million for water,” Moya said.
The “self-made billionaire entrepreneur” bought Sterland Mall in Arcadia and renamed it Ndala. His life as a “global wealth, high–profile marriage, and bold philanthropy” makes him one of South Africa’s most talked about figures.
Ndala is also a founder and CEO of Ndlalayesizwe Real Estate – an international real estate company based in South Africa, with offices also in London and the USA, encapsulated by the tagline: “Where Heritage Meets the Future.”
Ndlalayesizwe Real Eastate manages and owns several prominent developments in Pretoria and Johannesburg, including Nldala Dynasty and Ndlala Seigniory – residential development in Arcadia, Pretoria. Other notable properties include 12 on Hillel Villa 7 Spa in Northcliff, Johannesburg.
Ndala could not be reached for comment.
