High-profile media socialite, publicist, and club host Sakhile “Oros Barbie” Msibi passes on. A close friend confirmed his death following a short hospital stay.

Oros is known for his bubbly personality and mingling with A-list celebrities, including Bonang Matheba, Inno Morolong, Babalwa Mneno, Sithelo Shozi, Lerato Kganyago, Eva Modike, and many others. He hosted at nightclubs across Johannesburg, including the likes of Moloko in Tshwane. He appeared on the reality show Being Bonang.
When he travelled to the USA, he spent time with the stars TY Hunter.
Oros had picked up the pieces and started working again after falling on hard times. He had travelled to the USA and back to his “celebrity lifestyle.”
Originally from Eswatini, in 2018, friends and fans expressed concerns about his disappearance when struggling to locate him.
The African Human Rights Coalition reached out directly to but did not receive a response.
“We are asking for him to come forward to report being safe, and even if he is purposely in hiding, we will maintain his confidentiality and privacy and completely follow his direction on how to handle this situation.”
Radio host Lerato Kganyago sent out a request looking for the socialite on social media, and many responded, concerned about his whereabouts.
“People are so concerned whether or not the person is a “he/she”… This is a missing person we are tryna find. Not the gender!” Mbalenhle said.
A friend has revealed to Buzz Life News that Oros had fallen on hard times a few years ago and lived at a homeless shelter.
“Things were not looking good for him. He was not working, and when people tried to assist, he didn’t like the idea of them seeing him down. So he would hide, he said. He was in trouble, and he went to stay at a homeless shelter.” The friend reveals that during an altercation at the shelter that happened in November last year, he was stabbed. “I’m not sure of how the fight happened, but someone stabbed him, and he went to the hospital.”
However things were looking up and he got back on his feet.
“Things were coming together, and he was back to his fabulous life again. Until we were informed that he fell ill, and die son his way to the hospital.”
The family of the socialite is yet to confirm his death and the cause. He last pose don social media two days ago, stating that he was in New York City.
