A teenager is appearing today before Lebowakgomo Magistrate court for two counts of rape.
The Police in Lebowakgomo under Capricorn District have arrested a 19-year-old male suspect for raping a seven- year-old girl and a nine-year-old boy at Makotse new stand , Lebowakgomo policing area on Wednesday, 30 December 2025.
The complainant, on behalf of the victims, came to the police station client service center, commonly known as (CSC) with the victims (children) and the alleged suspect (19) of rape.
Reports suggest that the victims were playing with their friends at their neighbor’s place when the suspect lurred them to his place of residence. On their arrival, the suspect allegedly showed the victims pornographic pictures and raped them.
It is alleged that the guardian noticed that the victims were missing. She became suspicious and searched for them at their neighbour’s homestead. She found the victims crying, and when she asked what happened, she was informed that the suspect had already raped the two victims
A case of rape was opened and the suspect was subsequently, arrested on the spot for rape.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has condemned the incident in the strongest possible terms. “Anyone perpetuating gender based violence against the vulnerable group, should be firmly dealt with in terms of the law,” concluded the General.
