It has been more than a year since the tragic death of actor Mpho Sebeng who passed in a car accident on 5 May 2024. Since then, Mpho’s family has been looking for answers surrounding his death.
His family spoke to Kaya News asking for closure. parents, Nomsa and Joseph Sebeng revealed that the family has turned to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) after police delayed releasing the accident report for several months following Mpho’s death. “I just need closure to know what happened to my son then maybe I will be fine. That is the reason why we’re going to the IPID to say please help us to get closure and tell us why the police didn’t go there on time. We want to know what happened to my son,” the family said.
Mpho’s sister, Lebogang Sebeng added their family drove to Fochville Police Station wanting answers. “We were sent from one person to the next. We probably know 50 police officers’ names by now,” she said. “We were expecting so much from my brother, he’s my only brother I don’t have another brother. I still to this day don’t know what actually happened,” Mpho added.
