The life partner of former public protector Thuli Madonsela, Richard Edward Foxton, affectionately known as Dick or “Mr. Foxton”, has died at the age of 82.

Foxton was a veteran public relations executive and founder of Foxon Communications. He has died at the age of 82 peacefully in his sleep. “He passed away peacefully in bed.” Beyond the professional career, the statement said he loved sport. “Especially South African cricket and rugby. Foxon was a devoted family man and a deep Christian. He was a proud father and a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren, all of whom were a central part of his life.”

Foxton was a respected figure in the field of corporate communications and public relations. His work, though often behind the scenes, shaped the public image of numerous high-profile organisations in South Africa and abroad. ” Foxon’s impact on South Africa’s business and political landscape, his commitment to social change, and his deep love for his family and faith will not be forgotten,” the statement continues.

His memorial service will be held at the Rosebank Catholic Church on Friday 27 June at 14:00.
