In its announcement, the record label said: “Inkabi Records would like to inform all fans, promoters, and relevant stakeholders that Lwah Ndlunkulu has been admitted to a medical facility to undergo a medical procedure. As a result, she will be unavailable for the next two weeks, starting with this weekend’s shows in Bloemfontein and onwards.”

The announcement affects her scheduled performances in Bloemfontein and subsequent bookings during the two-week period. Inkabi Records has not publicly shared further details about her medical condition.

Born Lwandile Mtshali and raised in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, Lwah Ndlunkulu built her career through determination and a willingness to take risks to pursue music.

She moved to Johannesburg in 2020 while still in Grade 11, hoping to establish herself in the entertainment industry. Before her breakthrough, she worked at a Hillbrow radio station and at a club in Maboneng, where she encountered music producer Celza, who helped connect her with Inkabi Records, the label led by rapper Big Zulu.

Her breakthrough came through her association with the label and her appearance on Big Zulu’s hit Umuzi eSandton. She subsequently established herself as a solo artist with songs including Ithuba, featuring Siya Ntuli, and Ngiyeza, earning recognition for her emotive vocals and blend of Afro-pop and traditional Zulu influences.

Award-winning artist with a growing business portfolio

Lwah’s success has extended beyond music. Her songs Ithuba and Ngiyeza achieved platinum status, while she received major recognition at the 2023 Basadi in Music Awards. Her catalogue also includes popular releases such as Maye and Paris, the latter featuring Maskandi musician Mthandeni Manqele.

In October 2025, she released her second album, Amaciko, following her debut album, Imizwa. The project reflected her interest in celebrating Zulu culture while developing her identity as an artist and entrepreneur. She has also ventured into business through Amaciko Foods and Amaciko Production.

For now, the singer is expected to take a break from her professional commitments while she undergoes the procedure and recovers. Inkabi Records has asked for support and understanding, with fans hoping for her safe recovery and eventual return to the stage.
