Oskido’s Big Day Out is turning up the volume ahead of its third edition, with DJ Tira, DJ Sox, also known as Durban’s Finest, and DJ Cndo added to the 2026 lineup.

The festival will take place on Saturday, 28 November 2026 at Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, bringing together generations of South African music lovers for a full day of house, Kwaito, Amapiano and hip hop.

The latest additions reinforce the festival’s focus on celebrating the depth and diversity of South African music, with this year’s edition placing particular emphasis on Durban’s contribution to the country’s dance-music culture.

Celebrating Durban’s musical legacy

Durban has played a major role in the development of South Africa’s dance-music scene over the past three decades, from the Kwaito era through to the contemporary sounds that continue to dominate dancefloors across the country.

DJ Tira and DJ Sox, together with DJ Cndo, bring that Durban legacy directly into the festival’s two-stage format.

Their inclusion forms part of a broader celebration of the pioneers, DJs and artists who have helped shape the sound of Mzansi and whose music has continued to connect different generations.

The festival will look back at the sounds and cultural moments that influenced South African music while also showcasing contemporary artists and genres.

A significant year for Oskido

The 2026 edition carries additional significance for Oskido, who will celebrate his birthday alongside a major milestone in his career.

Earlier this year, the veteran DJ and producer was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga by the Presidency in recognition of his contribution to South African music and culture.

The national honour adds another layer to a career that has spanned decades and seen Oskido play a central role in the development and popularisation of South African dance music.

For Big Day Out, that history will be reflected in a festival designed to bring different musical generations together.

FNB comes on board as official partner

Adding to this year’s festival is a formal partnership with FNB, which has joined Oskido’s Big Day Out as an official partner.

The financial institution says the partnership reflects its focus on creating meaningful connections with customers beyond traditional banking, particularly through arts, culture and lifestyle experiences.

Philani Potwana, CEO of FNB Private Core Banking and Credit Card, said music’s ability to connect people made the festival a natural fit for the partnership.

“Music has a unique ability to bring people together and create lasting memories,” Potwana said.

He said Big Day Out celebrates artists whose influence and success have endured for decades, reflecting values around longevity, relevance and lasting impact.

“These same principles underpin our approach at FNB, where we believe trusted advice and long-term partnerships play a critical role in helping customers achieve their financial goals,” he said.

Potwana added that the partnership would allow FNB to connect with South Africans through culturally relevant experiences while encouraging customers to make the most of important moments.

Oskido on taking Big Day Out further

For Oskido, the partnership marks another step in the development of a festival that has music and community at its core.

“Big Day Out has always been about bringing people together through music,” Oskido said.

“This year we are taking that experience even further. We have incredible artists from different eras, two stages and now a partnership with FNB that allows us to create even more opportunities for people to connect, celebrate and make memories together.”

The festival is expected to feature a mix of established names and contemporary acts, with further talent and lifestyle experiences still to be announced.

What to expect at Big Day Out 2026

The two-stage festival will span a full day, with music covering house, Kwaito, Amapiano and hip hop.

The organisers say the final phase of talent announcements is still to come, meaning additional performers will be revealed in the build-up to November.

The event is positioned as a celebration of South African music across generations – from the artists who helped establish the country’s dance-music culture to the sounds shaping its current and future identity.

Oskido’s Big Day Out 2026 takes place on Saturday, 28 November at Huddle Park in Linksfield, Johannesburg, from 12:00 to 22:00.

Tickets are available through Webtickets, with General Admission, VIP and limited premium hospitality options on offer.
